List of Works by Al-Sayyid 'Abd al-Husayn Sharaf al-Din

List of works by Al-Sayyid 'Abd al-Husayn Sharaf al-Din is a collection of works (books and articles) by Al-Sayyid 'Abd al-Husayn Sharaf al-Din the Shi'a scholar of fifteenth/twenty first century. His famous books are al-Muraja'at and Al-Nass wa l-ijtihad. Some of his book are translated in different languages. The following is a list of his works:

1- Al-Fuṣūl al-muhimma; it is translated to Farsi under "Dar rah-i tafahum" (on the way to mutual understanding)

2- Al-Kalimāt al-gharrā' fī tafḍīl al-Zahrā' (concerning the virtues of Fatima al-Zahra (a))

3- Al-Murāja'āt; the book was translated into Farsi in 1945 when the author was still alive by the religious scholar, Haydar Quli Sardar Kabuli, and was published in Tehran.

4- Al-Naṣṣ wa l-ijtihād. It was translated into Farsi by 'Ali Dawani under "Ijtihad dar muqabil-i nass" (Ijtihad against explicit evidence). The book compiles about hundred cases in which some Companions of the Prophet (s) exerted their own ijtihad or deductions in contrast to the Prophet (s)'s own explicit words.

5- Al-Iḥtijāj alā qanūn al-aḥwāl al-shakhṣīyya fī Lubnān; a book about family law in Lebanon during colonialism of France.

6- Abū Hurayra; a research about the life and character of Abu Hurayra who was a companion of the Prophet (s).

7- Al-Majālis al-fākhira fī mātam al-'itrat al-ṭāhira; it is a preface to a book with the same title in four volumes. The book itself was burned in the fire set on Sharaf al-Din's personal library by French occupiers of Lebanon.

8- Al-As'ila wal ajwiba; a book about the superiority of Lady Fatima (a) over A'isha and other believer women.

9- Falsafat al-mīthāq wa l-wilāya; a discussion of the eternal divine covenant (dharr covenant).

10- Al-Iqtirāḥ al-munāzira fī-l khilāf bayn ahl al-sunna wa al-shī'a.

11- Ajwiba masā'il jār Allāh; a scholarly, well-argued reply to twenty questions that Musa Jar Allah had asked Shiite scholars.

12- Masā'il fiqhīyya; some problems of jurisprudence in accordance with the approaches of Islamic sects.

13- Kalima ḥawl al-ru'yā; the book concerns the principles of beliefs.

14- Ilā l-majma' al-'ilmī al-'Arabī bi Dimashq; scholarly replies to accusations made by the Scholarly Association of Damascus against Shiism.

15- Al-Adhān wal Iqāma wa ishtirā'ahumā; A works about Call for prayer and Iqama.

16- Bayyīnāt al-waḥy wa shahādatahā bi'anna Alīyya wa shī'atihi khayr al-barīyya; about seventh verse of Qur'an 98.

17- Tuḥfat al-muḥaddithīn fīma akhraj anhu al-sitta min al-muḍ'ifīn; about introducing weak narrators of Sihah Sitta.

18- Al-Nuṣūṣ fī ṣulḥ al-ḥudaybīyya.

19- Sharḥ al-tabṣira; a book in jurisprudence.

20- Al-Dharī'a ilā naqd al-badī'a.

21- Al-Kalimat al-thalāth.

22- Al-Masḥ ala al-arjul aw ghuslihā fī-l wuḍū'.

23- Al-Fawā'id wal farā'id.

24- Bughyat al-fā'iz ilā naql al-janā'iz; a jurisprudential article in rejection of those who believe taking deads into holy shrines is not permissible.

25- Thabt al-athbāt fī silsilat al-ruwāt; an essay concerning Sharaf al-Din's teachers among Islamic sects.

26- Mu'allifū l-Shī'a fī ṣadr al-Islām; a book about Shiite authors and writers since the beginning the Prophet (s)'s message until the time of Imam al-Hadi (a).

27- Zaynab al-Kubrā; about Lady Zaynab (a).

28- Al-Nuṣūṣ al-jalīyya.

29- Bughyat al-rāghibīn fī aḥwāl Āl Sharaf al-Dīn; this is a literary, historical and biographical book concerning the scholars of Sharaf al-Din and Sadr households.
