The most important feature of this commentary is considering common people as its readers. The manner of interpretation and explanation of issues is comprehensible for inexpert people. Some other features of Tafsir-i nimuna are mentioned as below, according to the introduction of the first volume:
Since the Qur'an is the book for life, instead of discussing literary and mystical aspects and alike, this commentary has especially discussed essential issues in material and spiritual life such as social issues and has made a good focus on issues closely related with individual and collective lives.
In connection with the topics mentioned in verses, under each verse, a concise and independent discussion is made about topics such as: usury, slavery, women rights, philosophy of hajj, reasons for the prohibition of gambling, drinking alcoholic drinks, pig's meat, principles and goals of jihad in Islam and as such; so that, in a brief study, readers become needless of referring to other books.
A special attention is made about the origin of words and occasion of the revelation of verses which are influential in accurate understanding of the interpretation of the Qur'an.
Different criticisms and questions made about the primary and secondary principles of Islam are mentioned in relation with every verse and a brief answer is given to them. It discusses issues such as the eater and the ate ones, ascent, multitude of wives, the reason for difference between the inheritance of men and women, the difference between the atonement for men and women, Muqattaʿat, abrogation of rulings, Islamic battles, different divine tests and tens of other issues, so that no question will remain in readers' minds.
Difficult scientific terminology which would make the book understandable only for certain people have been excluded in the text of the book; and in case of necessity, they have been mentioned in the footnotes to be beneficial to experts and scholars.
