Muhammad b. Muslim b. 'Aqil and Ibrahim b. Muslim b. 'Aqil, two sons of Muslim b. 'Aqil, were captured from the caravan of Ahl al-Bayt (a), after the martyrdom of Imam al-Husayn (a) in the Event of Karbala. They were imprisoned in Kufa, by order of 'Ubayd Allah b. Ziyad. They were in prison for one year. But with the help of an old jailer, called Mashkur, who was an adherent of Ahl al-Bayt (a), they escaped from the prison at night.
They hid in a house of a woman whose husband was in the army of Ibn Ziyad. When her husband, al-Harith, realized that they were in his house, he took them to the bank of the Euphrates River and beheaded them remorselessly and threw their bodies to the river and took their heads to Ibn Ziyad to receive a reward.
